About this tool
Type or paste a link, some text, a WiFi string or anything else, and get a scannable QR code instantly, at the pixel size you choose, downloadable as a PNG with no watermark.
The code is drawn locally in your browser, so whatever you encode, a private URL, a note, contact details, is never sent anywhere. Print it, drop it in a slide, or add it to a poster.
How it works
- Paste your input, or drop a text file onto the box.
- The output updates live as you type.
- Copy it to the clipboard, or download it as a file.
Frequently asked questions
Does the QR code expire or stop working later?
Never. The data is baked into the pattern itself, there is no redirect service in the middle, so the code works as long as whatever it points to exists. That is also why there are no scan statistics.
How much text can a QR code hold?
Up to roughly two to three thousand characters, but codes get dense and harder to scan as content grows. For URLs and short text, which is the normal use, scanning is instant.
What size should I download for print?
Use the larger sizes for print, a QR code should be at least 2 x 2 cm on the page and scanned codes need sharp edges. For screens, the default size is plenty.
